Blogging Insights # Leaving Links

Dr Tanya hosts the Blogging Insights series.

Her questions today are

How important do you think it is to embed links in a blog post?

How often do you link to your own previous posts?

Have you ever left a link on somebody else’s blog?

My responses are as follows:

How important do you think it is to embed links in a blog post?
IMO, this would depend on what the blog post was about and whether it was links for information (such as WIKI or news sources) or links to a post relevant to the subject matter.

How often do you link to your own previous posts?
A fair bit as some posts cover subjects I’ve already written about or have parts in common.

Have you ever left a link on somebody else’s blog?
Often, especially when participating in challenges such as this one, and my link will be left in Dr Tanya’s comments.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

I think your answers mirror mine except I rarely link back to previous posts!

    Nicely answered Di.

  3. I agree that linking depends a lot on context and relevance.

I wish I could make my links look nicer, I’m bad at adding links, and titling them appropriately. Xx
