My apologies for being so late accessing my blog, but we have been on a field trip today.
After Hubby’s blood test, we decided to check out the garages 17 miles away, even managing a test drive on a renault caruaru. It was a nice ride, and with a 1.5 diesel engine, certainly had some poke, but in order to maximize boot space, you sacrificed the leg room for rear passengers, plus I discovered the seat made my back ache as there was no lumber support in the design, which I would need on a long journey. The price was right though.
We looked at something else, but the clutch was heavy and made my leg ache.
We also checked out a Dacia Duster, VERY impressive, but he only had a 1 litre petrol available and we want a diesel vehicle.
We then decided to go further afield and hit the jackpot of choice with main dealers all in a row on both sides of the town, and we tried them all. No test drives, but we have plenty to choose from in our price range. The guy from Boston is due to ring me tomorrow and we will be declining his Rifter as we saw one that was younger for three thousand pounds cheaper, even if it was an automatic ( we prefer a manual box). Besides, if we were going to spend the kind of money he was expecting for a three year old car, we could get a new one for about £500 more. We found plenty of diesel Dusters available within our price range too, so came home and have done a bit more homework.
It has been an exceedingly productive day, if only to confirm what we could expect in P/X for the I10. We will still get the work done next week so that we don’t have to rush into buying another car and regret it later. We may end up keeping the I10 anyway depending on price.
Tomorrow we are off to the building society to switch the money over in readiness for whatever and whenever we buy. I’m hardly going to lose loads in interest afterall!!
Hope you have all had a good day thus far. Going to sort through comments and pingbacks now.
Take care everyone and keep safe.
