Happy St Patrick’s Day to those who celebrate.
The day here is gloomy and it has just started to rain. It’s been a mild week though and having read the meters, everything is down on last week. The new spreadsheet shows we have used just over £15 of energy, and that includes taxes and daily charges.
I have a chest Xray tomorrow and a little question has made me think. I mentioned about my surgery in 2019 and was asked if I had any metal in it. I thought nothing of it at the time and told her that everything had been taken away, so no. However, I’ve been thinking why she should have asked the question in the first place as although I realise Xrays and metal don’t mix, I haven’t had reconstruction so no chance of ‘scaffolding’. I’ll ask.
What’s on the agenda today other than the usual walk (s), lunch and housework? Not a lot.
Lunch is day two of our stew and there is plenty for tomorrow as well. It’s bin collection today so the guys should be along any minute. They’ve already done the garden run, but we don’t pay £40 extra a year to have our garden waste collected as we compost our grass cuttings and don’t have much else. The new roses we put in are doing OK, and Hubby has already put in some tomatoes and cabbages to start off. Actually, there is quite a lot of new growth on our hydrangea, buddleia and existing rose bushes. Shall be interesting to see how the clematis develops.
We’re noticing the new growth and colourful plants in gardens on our walks. Someone has just planted a host of pansies and primroses, so their frontage looks very pretty. We have some lavender bushes under the front window and they’re looking promising.
Onward with the day then. When the rain eases off we’ll go for our first walk which will probably be round the park to see how Geraldine is getting on with her suitors.
