Beyond the Door : writephoto March 2021

I am pleased to learn that Sue’s Write Photo challenge is to continue with KL Caley.

This photo was the very first Sue published for the challenge. It’s kind of quirky, so my take is in a similar vein

Horace was not happy.
He’d been quite specific when he’d put feelers out for the contract, and the winning contender had promised to deliver and install the merchandise within two weeks.
Well it was exactly two weeks to the day, and there it was.
Horace was definitely NOT a happy bunny.
‘Hi Guv’nor,’ the fitter said putting his gear away. ‘Exactly as you ordered. What do you think?’
Trying hard not to hop up and down with anger Horace replied
‘It’s set in the wall too high. How am I supposed to use it? I’m only three feet tall!’
The fitter rubbed his chin.
‘Ah, I can see you would have to watch your step…..’ he laughed at his little joke then noticed Horace was getting more than a little red in the face and going cross eyed….
‘Um, yes. Well. I have a solution………… my brother has a carpentry business and would be happy to make you a small set of steps to get in and out……………’
Horace sighed.
‘How much and how long?’
‘ About two weeks, and probably the same as the cost of the door.’

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

    • I guess it happens……….. we put in a back door and discovered a much larger drop to the drive than we anticipated. Hubby made a step, his first effort at bricklaying, and we called it Little Bedrock!
