Friday Fictioneers 5th March

Rochelle Wisoff-Fields is our host for the Friday Fictioneers photo challenge.
This week our picture is provide by Roger Bultot.

One day, somebody would fix it.
For now, the box underneath would have to do.
Seen to be doing……….. but only half the job, and it’s all a front.
Expecting mail?
Try the box as there’s nothing behind the mail boxes apart from the wall.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

A metaphor for life today – all surface, nothing of substance underneath!

    Well observed about the boxes

  5. murisopsis says:

Not too far from fact – makes it scary real!

  6. I wonder what the postman makes of that! Short and to the point, nice one Di!

  7. granonine says:

So everyone sorts through everyone else’s mail. I wonder how much of it is–uh–misappropriated?

  8. ahtdoucette says:

LOL at budget cutbacks. Reminds me of what my dad used to say: “good enough for government work.” Thanks for the chuckle, okay a little more than a chuckle!

  9. I remember hearing a conservative MP say that cutbacks on benefits were fine as the poor didn’t expect as much as those making the money…..

  10. Ha! Actually, I know some buildings where that is almost true …

  11. I’ve had a mailbox or two like those. Just a facade. Cleverly done!

  12. The mail is getting ‘lost’ more frequently. Probably will be quite awhile before there’s an issue. Fine work! 😉
