The Curious Case Of … How Well Do You Know and Trust Your Instincts?

Rory is our host for a mixture of Q&As on a variety of topics.
Nip over to his blog and have a read………. there’s a lot going on there!

How well do you trust your own instincts for sensing if something or someone is wrong for you and/or your life?
Very much. Hubby says I’m scary sometimes in picking up on something.
Do you or can you make the right decisions based upon your gut reactions quickly or do you simply tread more carefully and observe everything before making decisions on your findings, opinions and beliefs?
I tend to go with my gut, if it’s too good to be true, it probably is, kind of thing.
If you were to sense a change in a friendship but were not sure of the direction in which this was taking, but your instinct told you something was seriously off – how would you choose to react?
This has actually happened, and backed off. It was interesting to see how things panned out, and it was actually the end of the friendships concerned.
Do you think your instincts are always right and if not, what do you think can alter them to become unreliable?
Not always. Secveral times I have got it very wrong, but I tend to try and see more of the picture than what is presented to me now.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  1. Very well answered Di – l too find backing off from instincts at times the best measure of understanding.

I listen to my “Spidey-sense” when it comes to situations. I can usually tell when things are “not quite right” and have avoided many a pitfall just by being aware of what my gut is telling me.

  3. Sadje says:

Hmmm…. I think one should trust ones instincts but not make snap decisions.

  4. Ooo, but some of us are mistresses of the ‘snap’, we’ve always done it that way. It usually doesn’t turn out that well granted.

great answers to the questions, Di! xo
