Today is Friday 26th February

It is another glorious day and a field trip may be in order.
Following some interesting online activity and bank phone calls last night, I have to check my account is no longer blocked, and to do that I need a REAL PERSON in a bank.
As our nearest branch is either 17 or 19 miles away depending which direction you go, we might be having ‘lunch’ out……… that is if you can call a gingerbread teddy and cup of tea lunch. Poor Hubby still cannot digest solids, but the teddies are fair game and tea is always a winner.
There is a little bit of shopping we can do in a store that is not local to us, so I’m not complaining.

As the sun is shining, there is a high chance that the park, beach and prom will be busy. We noticed yesterday that the boat owner was getting his little fleet of row boats and paddlers maintained ready for Easter. That’s only a few weeks away and hopefully the majority of our town will be vaccinated by then. It doesn’t cure or prevent Covid, but it does offer some protection and reduce the odds of infection, which when you think about holidaymakers coming here en masse, is so badly needed.

Hubby had a really good night’s sleep last night, sleeping through until 8am. This is the first literally for months and he badly needed it, especially having taken a backward step with his INR yesterday. A field trip will hopefully do us both good, and if we’re stopped for travelling, we can honestly say we have banking business which cannot be done over the phone.

Hope your day has started well and the sun is shining (or is at least warm) where you are.
Take care and keep safe everyone.

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Bravo for the good night’s sleep! I hate dealing wit the bank – so many hurtles to get done what you need to do… Good luck!

  2. It’s 42F here this early morning, but supposed to be 73F today. A lovely, warm day again. I have to make a long drive to give blood this morning and then some more yard time. Even getting out for a drive to give blood is a welcome change of scenery.

  3. Good luck on your trip. Dawn is just breaking and there is a thin cloud cover.

  4. It’s drizzling and cold here, so it is very welcome to read about sunny skies and warmer temperatures! What a beautiful thought! Good luck with your banking!
