Today is Sunday 21st February

And it is a red letter day!!

Thank you all for reading! This is what my blog page looked like this morning:

Yep: 500,000 hits: half a million!! Wow!!!!

It’s mild but grey outside, so the washing won’t get done until tomorrow when it’s due to be dry and blowy. We could do it today, but the heating wouldn’t kick in to dry it indoors and if we put it on boost, we’re likely to cook!

Hubby woke up in the night with aches and pains all over, which is a common side effect from the Covid vaccination. We had an early night because he had a headache, but other than that, he seems OK. No bruising at all on the jab site, and he’s just a little more tired than usual.

The out of hours doctor rang yesterday and we are doing all the right things with his diet. She prescribed some food supplements which we can collect from our local pharmacy.
We have just rung them as they are not that well stocked with ‘out of the ordinary’ and been told they have to order them in specially. We can collect them either tomorrow afternoon or Tuesday morning.

Lunch for me will be a tomato and green bean pasta bake. As expected, I’ve had a small gain this week, taking me to the top of my target allowance. These past two weeks have been all over the place and I haven’t done very well at all, so I need to concentrate on my meals now and get things back under control. I am losing heart to be honest, but just have to focus and get my head round it again. Tape over gob is optional.
Hubby has just whisked up a banana milkshake with milk and ice cream which is going down very well. He had porridge, Complan and yogurt for breakfast, and will have soup for his lunch today. It’s the things to nibble in between that are proving difficult as there are only so many gingernuts he can take!! He did have some jelly babies yesterday though as the big tub he bought me for Christmas had three 165g packs inside. I had a synful four and he had the rest. Chocolate is now off the menu as it gives both of us reflux! The diet god works in mysterious ways!!
Hope your day has started well.
Keep safe everyone.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

500,000! Wow!! Congratulations!! That is really fabulous. Your hubby is having the same reaction as all my friends who’ve had the vaccine. For some it lasted a day or two and for others three days. As the weather’s not so nice today he can stay home and sleep.

    Yayyyy! Congratulations

I’m sorry hubby was feeling a bit achey all over from the vaccine earlier today. I hope he did get that nap. Glad he’s doing well with the diet.

  4. I’m not surprised by your numbers. You are a LOVELY blogger and you deserve all the attention!! ❤ As to your weight gain? Eh. Chalk that up to stress (which I've found lends to us 'holding' onto weight/fat as the body tries to cope with the additional stress levels). You'll probably see a dramatic drop because things are settling down again. Don't get discouraged, you and Sadje are my own heroes in the weight loss challenge field! You both do such great jobs at losing weight and maintaining your loss. ❤ Have a great day!

Chocolate!? Say it isn’t so! That is a mean trick for the diet gods to play. And congratulations on hitting the 500,000 mark!

Lol no chocolate? Well aren’t you glad? 😛 The diet god does really work in mysterious ways! Glad hubbys jab sight is not bruised, and he has only had minor side effects! xoxo
