I’m reblogging this in response to Fandango’s One Word Challenge which today is SUPERIOR.
She changed her boyfriends like the wind,
Because she knew she could.
She’d smile and lie, they’d never know,
(As if they thought she would)
She’d go out to eat, pile her plate high,
Because she felt she should,
Then leave half of it to be thrown away,
Despite it tasting good.
She changed her clothes three times a day
Because she knew she could.
Buy something new, not wear it once,
As her husband knew she would.
Looked down on servants as friends advised,
Because she felt she should,
Treating them with undisguised disdain,
Because it made her feel good.
She belittled and insulted all,
Because she knew she could,
Got away with her impossible demands,
Because she felt she would.
But pride cometh before a fall,
As they all knew she should,
No friends or allies rushed to her aid,
She realised this was not good.
