No, this is nothing to do with my poor attempt at cleaning the windows last week when Hubby was in hospital.
We had news today of a pregnancy that we are really pleased about.
No fanfare or staged pictures for this one, just one rather rotund little body and the expected delivery of four or five youngsters in about three weeks.
This is a cavapoo as taken from the internet.
Winnie is one of these, though she is purply grey and white rather than brown.
At eighteen months, her mummy was going to wait until she was two years old before letting her have a litter. However, due to sad unforseen circumstances in another family, this has been brought forward to this season instead, especially as the window cleaner’s dog took a shine to her.
Whilst the windows were being cleaned, the dogs got to play, and there you go.
Her owner has homes lined up for the pups, but as Winnie was one of 11, there is a strong possibility she will have more than five, so naturally the question was asked. We have responded that should she not be able to find homes for any ‘extras’ to come and talk to us.
Don’t get excited. Getting a new pup is not on the cards at the moment, and these little beauties can sell for as much as £3000 each. We don’t have that kind of money anyway, and much as I love the little dogs around us, both of us are in favour of something bigger when the time comes. Hubby wants a male this time, but we are in total agreement that the dog will have to choose us.
Meanwhile, we look forward to next month’s arrivals which beats anything by a certain couple.
Oh! What lovely news 😊💜
Isn’t it great? Now that’s something I can warm to.
Yes me too
A happy accident for certain! I hope the momma to be is delivered safely (and for her sake does NOT have a huge litter on the first go round)!
She is well loved and will be looked after. Winnie is such a sweetie.
If there was only one mating there’s less likely to be a massive litter. Good luck with the birthing! When my Jack Russells had their pups (some decades ago now) it always seemed to involve me staying the night on a camp bed by the whelping box.
I think our friend has things well in hand. I’m glad she already has homes lined up for an anticipated five. Hope I can get to see them beforehand, but with social distancing, it’s doubtful!
Awww! Cuteness! I love puppies! I cant wait for next weekend to get my puppy fix at my parents! 😀
Not long for Winnie now we think.
