Opposing Forces – Saturday Mix, 13 February 2021

Welcome to the Saturday Mix, 13 February 2021!

This week we are dipping our toes into the pool of OPPOSITES. Our challenge is all about “opposing forces” and the use of antithesis in our writing. You will need to use the two opposing words in your response – which can be poetry or prose.

Our words this week are:

– giant and tiny

– heavy and light

Such good news this week in that Princess Eugenie has had a baby boy. The picture posted was charming, a tiny hand flanked by the ‘giant’ hands of his parents. Beautiful.

On another issue for this week, we have had heavy snow, or at least what is considered heavy for these parts. The previous week we just had a light dusting which was gone in a matter of hours. This is now day 4 and the stuff is lingering. Although the roads are clear, it is still bitterly cold. Glad we have a good heater in the car!!

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Our snow has kept falling and there have been no days in the last 2 weeks where the temperature has been above freezing – in fact it is 20F (-6.6C) now and this is the high for today… We are slated to get more snow and even colder temps as the polar vortex sweeps across the state.

yes! Heating is vital in these times of such bitter cold!
