Sunday Poser #14

Sadje is our host for the Sunday Poser. You can find out more here
I usually participate in Sadje’s prompt in her comments, but today I thought I’d actually do a full post rather than a couple of sentences.
I host the daily Three Things Challenge word prompt, and when I first took over from Paula at lightmotifs I used to take part myself. There are other word prompt challenges, some single, some multiple, and I do some but not so many now. I do enjoy the twelve word Wordles of Sunday Whirl and Monday’s MlMM prompts though.
Sadje also hosts the What do You See photo prompt, and again there are several others that I participate in, especially Sue Vncent’s Thursday Write Photo which has always been one of my favourites. The diversity of ideas and interpretation of an image is quite astounding, be it poetry, prose or captions.

So in answer to Sadje’s poser question this week of being inspired more by words or images, I have to be honest and say both or either. I can look at an image and get no inspiration whatsoever, the same as I can see a word prompt and nothing comes to mind. A lot depends on my mood, time or circumstances, but if it’s a picture, I try to get an angle concentrating on something not perhaps immediately in the foreground, and if words, try to find alternative meanings or usage.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

And Di, you do both kinds so well. You’re very good at multiple word prompts. Which is quite an art. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I am always more inspired by words, but that is only because I have no way to see images being blind. xo
