Laughter Lines……. Life from the Tail End

Laughter Lines, Life from the Tail End by Sue Vincent. ISBN 9781910478097

I finished reading this last night, and it was a real treat.
It was Sue’s recent blog entry ‘Brunch’ that triggered me into ordering this book, mostly in support of the current Carrot Ranch Rodeo Classic, but also because Ani looks so much like our Maggie in some pictures, so I might be a bit bias!
I ordered it on Monday and my delivery date was Friday 5th February. It actually arrived on Thursday 4th, so I was well pleased and read the first two entries more or less on receipt. The book itself wasn’t expensive, photographs are in black and white, and this particular issue was published in Poland.

I chose to read it at night, winding down from whatever the day had thrown at us. I read them to Hubby, and he laughed out loud too, some of them are so funny.
I can identify with bath times and getting more soaked than the dog, sharing food, and woeful brown eyes that are oh so achingly familiar. Through Sue’s verse, I can visualise ‘The Small Dog’ getting her way, fun and play times, scrounging and pilfering, and then we have the human stuff of hair dyes, bad backs, cold toast and gingernut dunking.

The book is a delight, and an excellent way to relax before turning out the light. So much so, I’ve ordered another two which should be with me early next week.
IMO, this warrants a well deservedΒ

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
