Gloomy

This has been provided as our word of the day, and I must confess after a lovely start, the day has gone completely about fac. It is now tipping it down!
I can’t say if it’s actually gloomy though as it’s dark outside, the blinds are drawn and I can’t see very much.
BUT………………..
How do you associate with or identify gloom? Is it your mood, the weather, or the atmosphere? The news headlines aren’t exactly foot tapping and jovial, but I have to say some of the gloom in town has lifted since they started rolling out the vaccine.

Hubby and I made a deal when we got together, and other than on two, maybe three occasions, we have stuck to it.
We agreed that we could still have our bad or gloomy days, just not at the same time.
Not bad for coming up to thirty two years.

Thanks to Melanie for posting it on.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  1. Excellent compromise. Might have to implement it!

  2. That is a great way to live! No one needs to be grumpy with a grumpy partner! David and I are pretty clear when we are feeling gloomy or cranky. It’s important to give each other space.

My daughter and I have a similar agreement for phone calls to each other. We can’t both ‘dump’ at the same time.

I think this is a good deal. 👌

Gloomy isn’t part of our couple’s vocabulary. Sparky is a very even keel kind of guy and I have the patience of Job. When we are out of sorts a 3 minute hug can fix everything. (most hugs only last 15 sec or less so a long hug is very different)
