Well, they’re not exactly deadly, but I needed a headline.
Today has been a good day, and even though Hubby’s INR is up again, we know why and can compensate accordingly. He will have another test on Monday.
We have managed two walks today, the second being round the park with a bag of seed to feed the geese ducks.
Photo July 2019. I am a duck, honest.
Geraldine was way over the other side of the lake when we arrived, but as soon as she cottoned on there was food about, it was battle speed across the water leaving a wake that would have given the QE2 a run for the money. She is a gutty little git now, barging the other ducks out of the way, but we had plenty for everyone today.
There are five resident geese here, two pairs and a fifth wheel we’re not sure about. One of them looked very greasy today, and when he was close enough, we could see a wound on his flank that was healing over, so maybe a fox had got to him. The fifth one was nowhere to be seen, but I left some seed in the bag just in case. When I turned round he was approaching me from behind, something a couple of geese had done two years ago, pecking my bum and pulling at my jogger pockets. This one seemed quite patient and waited for me to put the reserved seed down for him then tucked in.
Foodwise, I have been very extremely good today. I have had my As and Bs as per my allowance, and am now spoilt for choice as to how to use my remaining ten syns of the day.
When I started with SW, it was suggested that you had all your syns then you wouldn’t feel hungry or cheated. One thing I’ve learned over the years is how high a syn value the things I love have, like sweets, chocolate, doughnuts, buns and cookies. The simple solution of course is not to have them. Yesterday was my double syn day as I had pie and a cookie, so today I have been extra aware.
With ten left, that could be two Ferrero Rocher chocolates (Hubby bought me a box of 16 for Christmas of which I have had one so far, and he had the remainder of the top layer), ten jelly babies or liquorice allsorts (neither packs are open yet as I know myself too well and will not stop at ten), a packet of crisps or popcorn (none left of either now, and I’m not buying any more), 2 shortbread biscuits, 5 rich tea biscuits (not my favourite anyway unless chocolate coated, in which case I could have 3, if I had any in the cupboard), or a slice of toast with butter or jam.
Bearing in mind it is now early evening and not long to bedtime, to have ten syns left over at this time of the day is nothing short of a miracle for me! Even better is the fact that I am not hungry.
I have just realised that although I have technically been good, today’s lunch was not homemade and as such I should syn it. Bummer! No point in cheating.
Glad I only had half of it, as that kept me well within the remainder of my allowance.
Phew. That’s a relief.
I am so impressed with how on top of this you are and through it all you manage to treat yourself. Bravo!!
I’m really trying Fransi, as I’m determined to keep the weight off, but would like to lose a little bit more. If I’ve lost anything this week, I shall have a ‘day off’ syn counting and enjoy what’s left of the chocolates!
And you’ll deserve them too!
😀
“Pecking at your bum” lol And you only had ONE Ferrero Rocher in all this time?!!? My Xmas treats were gone within the first week. Apparently, hubby and I have zero control haha
4 syns each, though it would be so easy to demolish the entire box…………. and the jelly babies, and the liquorice allsorts, and the biscuits…… etc etc. LOL
I have an unopened package of oreo mint cookies. But the thing is, as soon as I open them I’ll have zero self control! So I haven’t opened them!!
Exactly. I can look at an unopened packet or ignore it in the cupboard, but once opened, gone in 60 seconds!!!!!
Thanks for sharing this fabulous post 😊👍
