Play it again please

This picture prompt came to my attention today, and something stirred!
Here’s the link if you want to play along too (excuse pun)

Your challenge or writing prompt is this:

  • what emotions or feelings get evoked or aroused in you when you look at this photograph taken by Lynn

Remember, the goal isn’t necessarily to tell me and others exactly what the picture is.

The picture:
She could hear the music as clear as the day. Beautiful heartfelt renditions of musicals from yesteryear.
As a child, she would sit for hours just listening, then go to the old piano in the snug and pick out the notes, getting the melody straight in her head, down to her fingertips and onto the ivory keys.
Years later, the snug was demolished along with the rest of the pub, and all that remained was an old piano.
Nobody wanted it, nobody played it, and gradually it became warped and twisted by the elements, no longer a thing of beauty or a joy of sound.
But, she could hear the music as clear as the day, and even though she died at the age of twelve, could see her daughter sitting there playing, just for her.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
