Frank’s (aka PCGuyIV) question this week for his Truthful Tuesday series is as follows:
When you come across dead links, either in your existing posts or in comments on your blog, do you try to fix or delete them, or do you just let them be, and why?
Links might not work for a variety of reasons, sometimes because the site has been deleted, the title has been changed after any linkages made (hold my hand up there) or the post itself has been removed due to a change of mind, content might be misinterpreted, or perhaps too much personal information was contained therein.
I’m aware of several old ‘chained’ photo challenges with linkages to sites that are no longer available, but to be honest as a rule I leave things as they are.
However, I’ve also noticed that sometimes when I get a new follower who is NOT a commercial site or a robot, the site does not exist, so I do delete them.
