Today is Saturday 16th January

We’ve had snow!!! I pulled back the curtains at 9 o’clock this morning and the garden was white!
Don’t believe me?
Hubby took this picture around 6am
and I took these when I got up.

All photos were taken through the windows.

Maybe not enough to build a snowman, but it was relatively mild, though by 10am it had turned to mush and the wind was picking up.
We went for a short walk round the block, and although it was wet underfoot and a little slippery in places, it wasn’t that bad at all.
Judging by the footprints and paw prints, people had already been out, and we had seen some of our dog walking friends either coming back or going out with their fur babies.
Maggie wouldn’t have been too happy as she didn’t like having cold toes, though we would have put her little jacket on and her yellow vest.
Hubby had the foresight to put the windscreen cover on the car last night, and you cannot see the pattern under the white sheet. When we have a cold spell like this you can see who has good roof insulation!

Needless to say we will not be doing very much, though as long as it stays reasonably warm, we will be going for walks throughout the day to keep the circulation going and appreciate the central heating when we get back!!

Hope your Saturday has started well. Keep warm and safe everyone.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  1. My goodness that’s hardly any snow at all. We’ve on had one snow so far this winter and it was 6 inches. Enough to get out the snow plower to clear the driveway.

I’m so glad you could still go out despite the snow. A little snow is forecasted here this evening, but I doubt it’ll stay on the ground long enough to create whiteness.

  3. We haven’t much snow this winter, but the fog has been heavy. I can barely see the trees out now. Have a relaxing day and stay safe.

Snow! We got a light dusting last weekend, but not too much! I think we’re in for a sleety and icy week though this week! Rain first, then the ice and sleet afterwords!
