Snug as a bug in a rug as they say, or do you fancy a pint in the snug of a pub?
The latter is probably few and far between anyway as most pubs I went in to play darts pre Covid were open plan. It was rare to have a separate room for the older regulars to sit quietly with their glasses of stout, port and lemons or G & Ts, away from the bustle or dartboards and pool tables, or blaring juke boxes.
When we bought the cottage in 2007, we had plans to convert it to a B&B, but as things turned out, the design of the property was all wrong and we could not put bathrooms in the bedrooms. It was shame really because what became our dining room would have made a very nice ‘Snug’ for us as owners.
