Take Seven 15th January

It’s Friday!

Welcome to my Take Seven compilation which incorporates all 21 words (or derivatives) from the Three Things Challenge for the past week.
You are most welcome to join in using as many or all of the words too. Just pingback to this post and then leave a link to your post in the comments so that I can see it and respond directly.
As always, have fun, and I hope you enjoy this week’s effort.

Our words were:
ago, anywhere, bad, change, chest, dashed, doldrums, early, expectation, few, just, mistress, outlook, past, planning, sing, teasing, thoughtful, tomorrow, want, weak
The weak sunlight peeped through the curtains. She lay there, thoughtful and pensive, wondering if she would feel any different tomorrow.
So much planning had gone into today, so much expense and expectation.
She rolled over, the sun teasing at her back.
In all honesty, she didn’t want to get up.
It was early anyway, and she didn’t have to be anywhere just yet.
Curling her knees to her chest, she thought back to times past.
Not all that long ago really, just a few years, but so much had changed.
Her dreams dashed, she’d raised herself out of the doldrums, changed her job as well as her outlook, and applied herself to her new surroundings, concentrating on making new friends.
It had paid off, and now here she was.
Tomorrow would see her as mistress of the house rather than the children’s Nanny.
Maria chuckled to herself.
The movie could have been written for her. Too bad none of them could sing.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
