Today is Wednesday 13th January

It’s early afternoon and we have had a positive start to the day.
First and foremost we both had a good night’s sleep. This could of course be something to do with the nightcap we had……….. my Baileys attracts four syns . These were all accounted for as I allowed myself extra yesterday following a slice of plum bread. As things turned out, that was actually my third meal of the day as I didn’t need anything else LOL!

Our neighbour has had a negative result for her home Covid test, so she is now more confident to go out shopping or for a walk and is coming round for a cuppa this afternoon.

The council have been to fix our street light and may well have gone up the road to do another which we noticed yesterday was out. If not, we will report it.

We had a lovely walk through the park, up on the prom and then back through the estate.
We met up with a few people, some of which didn’t know about Maggie so naturally asked. It follows then for them to ask if we’ll get another, but we tell them it’s not on the cards.
We took some seed up for the ducks and had a group of about 30 round our feet pecking away. Geraldine was otherwise occupied on the other side of the lake by someone with a bag of bread. We know of several people who feed the ducks, so it’s reassuring to know our little flock of mallards won’t starve. I had two puppy fixes today, four if you count two staffy crosses who wagged their tails at me when they passed us entering the park. They are both lovely dogs, but we don’t know the guy that well, so fuss isn’t the norm there.

Lunch has been had, and I did the bacon with mushrooms, garlic, onions and peppers in a stock rather than sauce for our jacket potatoes, then had broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and green beans on the side. It was tasty and filling, and even better, all FREE for me. I’m on to a good start to the diet day as I haven’t had any syns yet, and only 1 A option, so could have cheese (2nd A) for my final meal and crackers, which I’d syn. I have cherry tomatoes in the fridge which will pack out my plate. So far, I haven’t wanted to binge.

Today will be a quiet day, and I can see that it’s raining now. Although very mild, we have snow forecast later this week. I just hope we don’t get loads of it tomorrow as Hubby has an INR first thing, and then we are back up to the dentist for his fillings. He won’t be able to eat anything or have hot/cold drinks for a few hours afterwards, so he’ll probably have soup for a late lunch. I’ll get myself a baguette and put something in that for mine.

Have a good day everybody, and keep safe.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
