Once again our thanks to Rochelle Wisoff-Fields for hosting the Friday Fictioneers photoprompt challenge. You can find out more here
This week our photoprompt is courtesy of Dale Rogerson.
She stood backstage, waiting for her cue and big break.
The lights came up, and the applause was deafening.
She walked out, cheers and whistles echoing round the auditorium with each step.
Her backing band started the intro as she took to the mike.
Without singing a single note, she made front page news, just as she’d hoped.
Sadly she wasn’t there to see it having suffered a fatal heart attack on stage.
73 words.

About pensitivity101
I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes!
We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too.
From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives.
We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
Unfortunately that happens every once in a while
Thanks for commenting Larry. You OK?
Yes I’m well, thank you. I hope all goes well with you too
We’re good. Take care.
Did NOT see that coming! Good one π
Thanks Sara
Oops
Great job. I did not see that coming.
Thanks Lauren
Yikes. Lots of unhappy endings this week! This is really sad.
Hi Linda, thanks for commenting. Yes, there are some sad ones this week.
Ah! Di you pulled the proverbial rug out from under me! I didn’t see that twist coming!! You are a master at that!
Thank you very much indeed!!
Good one Di! β€ β€
One way to guarantee immortality of a kind!
Sad though.
Oh no, it started so well. At least she departed from a place she loved.
Thanks Keith.
Oy vey … and yet … what a way to go …
π’π
Oh my! Not at all in her plan, I am sure! Well done, Di.
Thanks Dale!

Talk about stage fright!
True, but sad.
How tragic.
