Truthful Tuesday 12th January

Frank is asking a variety of questions this week for his Truthful Tuesday post.

The Questions

There has been plenty of serious going on in the world, so it’s time for a bit of lighthearted fun. This week, instead of some deep philosophical question, I have a series of “This or That” questions for you to answer! Some of these may be challenging to make a decision on, but that’s kind of the point. Pick your favorite, even if you like both! If it’s genuinely too hard to choose, “yes”, “no” or putting in your own answer are potential options, though in general, as much as we all like cake and cookies, we tend to genuinely prefer one over the other, and as much as no one really likes Spam or Vienna sausages, one probably sounds less revolting than the other.

  1. Coffee or Hot Tea?
    Definitely tea.
  2. Soda or Iced Tea?
Not a fan of fizzy drinks, but like soda water and ice if out (usually free!!)
  3. House or Condo?
Single storey house (aka bungalow in the UK which is what we have now)
  4. Pie or Cobbler?
  5. Cornbread or Biscuits (The US kind)?
If biscuits are cookies, put me down for cookies. If they are crackers, then I’ll take crackers. Never had cornbread.
  6. Computer or Smart Phone?
  7. Hotel or Camping?
  8. Swimming Pool or Ocean?
  9. TV Shows or Movies?
We have no TV, but a large selection of DVDs, so movies.
  10. iOS (iPhone/iPad) or Android (Samsung, LG, et. al.)
I have neither, have never used one, so can’t say.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Regarding #5, the biscuits I’m referring to are what we catt biscuits in the US. Closest UK equivalent would likely be a savory scone.

You don’t have a smartphone? How interesting! I didn’t have one till mid-2017 and thought I was late to the party in that respect.

Re biscuits, I never considered them being crackers.

  3. I don’t know exactly what ‘scones’ are in England, but I get the idea they’re sweet, like a raised (yeast) donut (not the same shape obviously) over here? Biscuits in the U.S.A. are a fairly dry lump of dough that’s baked. Usually made with baking soda. They’re not sweet, but you can put honey on them to make ’em more palatable. I’ve heard European scones are more baking powder than yeast products? That cream tea idea sounds divine though!

  4. Carol anne says:

Great answers Di! Some of them were similar to mine, I love tea, also!
