It’s Dentist day today so we’re up early. We’ll incorporate a visit to the bank and do some shopping. I text our neighbour this morning and there are a few things she needs, so they’re on the list too.
Still no sign of anyone fixing our street light, though there is a lot of activity by the council clean up brigade cleaning out road gullies.
It’s cold again today after a night of continuous rain. I’ve been awake most of the night, not because I’m worried about the dental visit, but I couldn’t get comfortable, couldn’t ‘switch off’ and had itchy feet which drove me mad! I can’t see any inflammation or suggestion of chilblains, and there’s nothing tickly at the foot of the bed. Mum always used to say if you had itchy feet, it meant you were going to new ground. I suppose that could be true then as the dentist is new to us.
The double glazing guy is due around 2.30 today, so we can get home and have lunch before he arrives. Jacket potato, with bacon and mushrooms in a cheese sauce and some veg on the side is planned, but we might see something else we fancy when shopping.
Hope you get all done on your list.
All done. It’s been a good day!

Yes, we went out today too, blood test, then shopping. And it was cold and raining!
It’s been a pleasant sunny day, but cold. Dentist went OK, no treatment for me, Hubby needs two fillings.
Shopping done with no problem, and the window is covered by their guarantee and will be replace in about two weeks!
I would call that a good day!
It has been!
I learn new things from you everyday! I didn’t know what a Jacket potato is but from what I have read they are much better than the US version of a baked potato! Have a great day!
Jacket and baked potatoes are the same I believe, though I make loads of different fillings to go in mine. As it turned out, we didn’t have them today, so will probably have them tomorrow instead. When I was in NZ, people thought me odd because I ate the skin on my jacket potato (sometimes the best bit!), but didn’t eat the skin on my chicken!
My best friend puts some olive oil on her potatoes then wraps them in foil to cook them. The skin is the best part no matter how it is cooked! That’s where the vitamins are I think. I also love baked sweet potatoes.
I used to rub salt into the skins after I’d washed them and cook them in the oven. Now I used the microwave as it’s quicker, and no salt as it’s better for me!
I just bought a seasoning yesterday that has just about all the good ones except salt. It was very good. Mrs. Dash. Do you have that brand?
Can’t say I’ve heard of it, but there are probably things similar available here. I have to be careful with seasoning and spices for Hubby, but there’s nothing stopping me having them!!
Hi Di, I have tried to invite you to read my blog but you have blocked invitations so I can’t reach you unfortunately. My blog is private now because I had to deal with a stalking ex. I am currently preparing “Love Is In Da Blog 2021” with the topic “Great Love Stories”. This year we can choose music, write a poem or do both. Please apply so you can join my blog if you like to take part again. If not, no worries. I know life is difficult right now. Take care Bee
Oh Bee……….. I haven’t blocked anything that I know of, so this is odd. Please, yes. What do I do?
That is strange. Just go to https://thebeewrites.com/. It says that its private and there should be a link where you can sign up. It doesn’t always work with Chrome or Opera but should work with Edge. Or allow all cookies. And if nothing works please send me your emailadress and I try to invite you again. Mine is bee.halton(at)gmail.com πββοΈπ
email sent Bee.
I was thought not to eat the potato skins as they would make me sick. This was in the 1930s and the potatoes skins still had pesticide use in growing them would still be on the skins. I still can’t eat them. Your days sound like is a pleasant one and wish the rest of the day is stress-free. Stay safe!
It’s funny how times change. I was told that the skin was the best part for roughage!
Keep safe Bettylouise.
I hate it when I cant get comfy in bed! Your itchy feet sound almost as bad as my restless leg! xo
