Today is Sunday 10th January

We woke up to a white wonderland thanks to one of the heaviest frosts so far.
Hubby was up first, and I surfaced just after 9.30, so I had a lazy start to the day.
After breakfast, we went for our first walk of the day, and cannot remember seeing so many people in so short a time. We were playing dodge ’ems everywhere we turned, but were lucky in that we had both time and space to manoeuvre ourselves out of harm’s way.
Saying that though, it was a pleasant walk up through the park and along the prom. On the way, I had a puppy fix with Cinders from a distance (her owners were quite happy for me to have a fuss on the extended lead, but we understand perfectly, and I was quite content ‘by remote’), then in the park we met up with our ‘celebrity dog’, Dave Cassidy, a 14 month old border terrier who is very affectionate, so it was fuss on the extended lead with a park bench and full pavement width in between us and his owners.

Weigh/text in today, and although I haven’t lost anything this week, I’ve stayed the same, so that is better than a gain. I’ve been packing my meals out with plenty of veg, and today was no exception. We had chops with onion and garlic gravy, mashed potato, peas, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli and green beans, though Hubby passed on the beans.
Top left: chili, rice, green beans.
Top right: cottage pie with cheese topping, broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, green beans.
Bottom: today’s chop, mash, peas, carrots, broccoli, green beans and cauliflower.

Hope your day has started well. Keep safe everyone.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

You have snow! Here we are approaching mid Jan and no snow on the ground … or in the immediate future! 🙂

  4. When I looked out of my window this morning there was such a hard frost I really thought it had been snowing! My meal today? Moules Mariniere with garlic baguette! I ventured onto my bathroom scales earlier today only to find the battery had run out! Oh, what a shame!

  5. Lovely photos, those all look absolutely delicious!! I’m with Carol Anne that next week you’ll probably see a drop in numbers. But you’re maintaining not gaining, and that’s a big plus as well..usually the weeks after the holidays are full of battles with the numbers.. Good on ya! Oh, by the way, if y’all want snow? We got enough over here and more. You’re welcome to it!
