Today is Saturday 9th January

The day has started with a Hallelujah moment.

Perhaps someone has finally stopped to listen, looked into the local population data, and found a brain cell of logic and common sense.
Maybe we were one voice who refused to be fobbed off, or maybe we were one of HUNDREDS who voiced a concern, but now we have a result.

Our GP surgery is to be used as the vaccine roll out hub for our town. It will be run by the NHS and not our HHA (Head Honcho Ass) GP, though some of his staff may be called upon to help administer the vaccine. Rollout is due to begin on January 16th.
We know we are a considerable way down the line for it, BUT the majority of people here are elderly and have no transport other than their mobility scooters. At last, they will be able to get to a local venue with no added hardship.

It’s frosty and cold, but no wind, so when Hubby gets back from collecting his prescription from the pharmacy, we will be going for our long walk of the day. I’ve done the housework, using the vacuum cleaner to get in all the little corners that our hand pushed sweeper misses, and I’ve also done the dusting, which I hate!

Lunch today is day 2 of our chili, so I don’t have to worry too much about that. I’ll do extra veg for me as I did yesterday. Weigh in tomorrow.  I have been really good in recording everything, even allowing myself extra syns on one day (I’m allowed two or three days a week with an extra 15 as I’m in target) so PLEASE let me have lost something!!
Hope your day has started on a positive note. This news this morning has cheered me up no end, mainly because someone has had the balls to tell the HHA he WILL allow the surgery to be used.

Keep safe everyone.

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

    That’s good news

That’s good that there is a local place doing the vaccines. No one should have to travel for it.

Wonderful news!! My inlaws are scheduled to get their vaccines and have already been given an appointment time. I’m hopeful that the rollout for us will be before the end of March (but I can’t tell for sure). Having the vaccinations being done locally will make a big difference to the people in your town!

  5. I finally got my flu shot yesterday. I saw a new doctor yesterday who I like. It was decided I could use a wheelchair and they are sending the request slightly. I am glad things are going better for you.through medicare. My medicines were changed. Be well and stay safe.
