I’m reblogging this in response to Sarah’s Saturday Mix.

The fridge is still groaning here, and we haven’t even started on the cupboards yet!
For harassed and busy Mums (and Dads) everywhere:
Christmas Aftermath
Both the fridge and freezer
Are groaning with Christmas food
But having fought to buy the stuff
I’m just not in the mood.
There’s sausage rolls and crisp mince pies,
A joint of gammon too,
Trifle, pigs in blankets, cream,
All those calories to get through.
With a full traditional dinner,
Bloated tummies will appear
And breaking wind thanks to sprouts
Will accompany Christmas cheer.
They all have a good sell by date
So will last a little while,
Chocolate figures and turkish delight,
And marshmallows to make you smile.
Overloaded, stuffed and round,
We’ll have sandwiches instead,
But on reaching into the cupboard
I find I forgot the bread!
