Today is Saturday 19th December

It’s a chilly windy day here on the East Coast, but at least it’s not raining.
Luckily we have no immediate shopping to do, so won’t have to fight our way through the supermarket queues as the chances are town will be heaving.
Our plan today (other than not doing very much, LOL) is to take the Nikon with us on our walk and try to get a decent picture of our visiting duck.  She is so pretty, so we hope to send a picture to the professionals and see if they can identify her.
We are keeping up with our walks as it gets us out of the house, gets the circulation going so that we can appreciate the central heating without having to turn it up, it’s exercise, and also we can socialise at a distance with our dog walking friends, not to forget of course the potential for umpteen puppy fixes.

Lunch today will be day 2 of my curry. It is unusual for a curry to last 2 days, but either our appetites have diminished, or I gave more chicken to Maggie than I realised! I always used to cook the meat first (minced beef, chicken, pork), drain off any fat and put a few bits in her bowl, then add onions, stock, and anything else going into the dish I was preparing.
We are now on the last of our onion crop, so they have lasted extremely well, and I won’t have to buy any until the New Year. We have kept a lot of the plastic food containers to use as pots to start our veg off indoors next year. We learned some important things this year and know what we will NOT be growing.

Hope your day has started well.
Keep safe, and take care everyone.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Glad you are having decent weather. We are in freezing temps with snow flurries. Today I’m going to finish the very last gift purchase. Just a little thing that son#1 indicated he wanted… a can opener. The old fashioned kind that you have to turn. He has decided that sometimes the new version isn’t actually an improvement! I want to encourage that thinking so I’m off to the store. I’m certain it will set me back just a couple of dollars…

  3. Isn’t it great when a meal lasts longer and you don’t have to cook for a day. I hope you got your picture.

  4. Have a wonderful day and stay safe.

I love homemade curry! I am planning on walking every day once the new year start, even if only on my treadmill!
