I have called her that because I have only ever known one Geraldine in my life, and this little beauty is a one off.
If anyone knows what she is, I’d be grateful for your input. Hubby thinks she is a member of the teal family.

Maybe it’s a Buff Orpington Mallard
https://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/7692240
It is hanging out with Mallards. so maybe
Thanks Jen. It is indeed similar. We’re in the UK though, so maybe not?
It does say Europe ….Hmm
Interesting! Maybe it is a visitor then, though Geraldine seems a bit more stocky.
So am I. Yet I’m human last I looked 😊😏
haha!
😁
Looking at your photos is like one I have seen my way over the past year and yes a beautiful colour. Yours is paler in parts than one I spotted.
I pointed it out last year, when I was with my conservation group and she told me it was a hybrid mallard. A bit of crossbreeding.
Thanks Liz. She has a similar quack but it’s deeper than a normal mallard, so this is quite possible.
I like Geraldine 💜💜😚
Isn’t she lovely?
Beautiful
I agree that it looks like a Buff Orpington which is a domestic duck from the UK. Probably got loose and is hanging out with the Mallards… https://www.mcmurrayhatchery.com/buff_ducks.html
That is very like Geraldine apart from the beak, so I think she is definitely related. Thanks Val.
Luvaduck!
That was the name of the boat Hubby built!
Thanks Chris.
What a cute name! I love it Di! Glad you got to see her on your walk! 😍😎
