Here’s Linda’s prompt for this week:
Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “magnet.” Use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!
I have a selection of fridge magnets, these two are my favourites
The one on the left I bought for my sister, but didn’t think she’d see the joke so kept it for myself. The one on the right I bought for Hubby’s birthday as it was so ‘Maggie’.
Which brings me to something most of my readers already know, and that is how Maggie got her name.
When we collected her, we had no idea of a name, and when we took her to the vet the following day, still had no clue, so she was listed on the paperwork simply as ‘Puppy’.
Coming out of the surgery, she was tucked snugly into Hubby’s coat with just her nose sticking out of the top. Two women came up for a fuss and a ‘Aww’ and ‘Aahh,’ and two yards later, another young lady approached for her puppy fix. I think it took Hubby about ten minutes to walk 20 yards.
I said she was a people magnet, and the ears pricked up. Magnet became Maggie, the tail wagged, and that was it.
I found this image on google way back in 2014 and thought it was really funny.
That’s a cute way Maggie got her name.
Her reaction to the word magnet was immediate, so it made sense.
😍🥰
Great cartoon! Poor ole’ pup.
Thanks Maggie
Of course refrigerator magnets. How could I miss that. We have one for every trip we’ve taken.
what a cute story about Maggie’s name! Really neat! ❤
It’s true. Her ears pricked up at the word magnet, so Maggie was christened. It seems so strange without her. Been five weeks now.
It must be really strange
very. We miss her.
