The Question
One thing we all seem to do a lot of during the holidays is eat. But depending on personal tastes, where we’re from, family traditions, and possibly other factors, exactly what that food looks like, and which parts are our favorites can be varied. So whether you’re a pumpkin pie fan, simply crazy for green bean casserole, or all about the honey-glazed ham, please let us know…
What was your favorite holiday treat growing up, and has that changed over the years, or is it still your top choice for holiday eating?
I have always had a sweet tooth, and that has not changed at all, type 2 diabetes or not.
As kids, our stockings would include sugar mice, candy, and chocolate.
Those mice seemed pretty big, but then we had little hands, so I suppose it was a case of perspective. The ones available today, IF you can find them, are tiny, but taste as good as I remember.
Holiday treats are not just for the holidays though, and I remember cinder toffee, chocolate covered or not, chocolate brazils, turkish delight (again chocolate covered or not, you might notice a theme here), and of course at Christmas, the chocolate Santa.
When Hubby and I first got together, one of my gifts to him that first Christmas was a chocolate Santa. It’s become our own tradition, and every year, I will get him one……….. the size just varies.
Mmmm…. chocolate
