Truthful Tuesday: December 1st 2020

It’s Tuesday, so Frank sets us the Truthful Tuesday poser.

The Question

With the exception of blogging (assuming it’s a hobby and not your profession), do you have any unique hobbies or pastimes?

I don’t know if you’d class them as unique, but I love to do jigsaw puzzles.

These are 1000 piece puzzles hanging in our lounge. Two are of narrow boats, and the one in the centre a cottage in the woods. The largest I ever did was 3000 pieces in 1976, but that ended up going back in the box.

Then of course I have an interest in, and love of, dogs. It doesn’t matter what size or breed, I seem to have a rapport with them all, though know the difference between an excited yap and a warning bark!

But I think my greatest hobby now is card making. I get so much enjoyment out of making them, especially when ideas come together.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

I used to try to make cards too, but wasn’t too successful with it. Have you considered joining some of the cardmaking challenges out there on various Blogspot blogs? They usually have linkies that WP users like you can join into as well.

Those are awesome hobbies Di! xo

  5. You have an amazing skill with card making! Your designs are beautiful (both then and now!) And I forgot ‘dogs’ on my own list of ‘hobbies’ (although that’s the wrong sort of categorization, isn’t it?) … They are a joy!

  6. We do have a lot in common. I do love the cards, though never attempted myself.

    • I was useless at arts and crafts at school, so really surprised I took a liking to this after being introduced to it at the ladies group I attended all those years ago.

I’m a little surprised that dogs didn’t come first! hehehe! Your cards are so much nicer than the ones available in the stores. I can’t wait to see what you are working on next!

    • You are getting to know me so well Val! Dogs have always been a part of my life, but the puzzles are in my direct line of sight as I sit here, so that’s probably why I put them first.
Thank you for liking my cards. I do so enjoy making them. Ideas are filtering through again…………………
