She was obstinate in her ways, and unlikely to bestow her attention on you.
Many said she had ice in her veins, but I knew different. I had seen that bottom lip quiver, the tears threaten to spill and her attitude crumble as she stood at the foot of the lighthouse that had once been her home.
Few knew of her murky past, something forever printed in her mind, a time when she would garble her words following a beating from an enraged father and imagined drama as he surrendered to his demons.

About pensitivity101
I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes!
We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too.
From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives.
We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
Wow! Thats so powerful! ❤ Love it Di!
Thank you
This touched my heart, and a few tears creeped out of my eyes.
Sometimes we don’t see the true story.
Often. A good thing when I was teaching was that I could often tell there was a story that needed to be told. Many heartbreaking calls to CPS in order to help a student.
Same here with fostering and kids that came under my care. At least I could get them to talk to me.
Well done!
thank you.
You’re welcome!
