How is your day going dear friends?
It’s chilly and overcast now, but was quite pleasant first thing so after breakfast we walked up into town. This is about a mile each way and one of the last walks we had with Maggie at the weekend. We have walked every day since and our trip today was to find a photo frame to house a snapshot of her until we can get a picture done on canvas. We have several to choose from and don’t know if this one will be the final selection.
I’ve put it on the piano alongside the sympathy card we received from the vets yesterday. Such a nice personal touch at such a sad time. We’d taken up the unopened food earlier so didn’t know about it, though I did thank them all for their kindness on Monday.
The Babies are now dry and put back together, sitting on the dresser in the bedroom.
Grandad has a paw round each one. The one with the big eyes and rather shy was originally a gift from a dear friend when we were on the boat which Maggie took a shine to, and the other russetty brown bear is the last baby we bought for her.
Hubby’s INR has plumetted and so he is on tummy jabs for the next few days with another appointment on Monday. He is not pleased as he said he thought the amended dosage last week was too low, but being a new nurse, she didn’t listen. Great.
Lunch today is cheese and onion pasties with wedges and beans. We’ll have our third portion of stew as soup for our final meal around 4pm. Timing is paramount with meals so we are still on a learning curve, but making progress as Hubby has put on a few pounds.
I love the photo and frame. The babies look comfy. Glad to hear a hubby has put on a few pounds well done you both. It a shame that the nurse didn’t listen to hubby the old adage is true, ” you know your own body better than any nurse or doctor”
Thanks Willow. Been thinking of you today in respect of next week and hope things are progressing accordingly.
Fingers crossed π
everything crossable………… π
Thank you π
This is a great photo of Maggie. Hugs Di.
We have quite a few.
I can imagine
Most are on computer chips, but we dug the box of snaps out of the roof and found some oldies of our life in the early days.
Thatβs great.
Such a heart wrenching post. I love the photo in the frame and the lovely card from your vets and all the babies together. π
It takes time – though I still cry for LM.
I know exactly what you mean. I still cry for Barney, Kizzy and sweet Pepper who was so afraid of thunder (1980). We love them so much, they remain a part of us. I’m so glad Maggie was a part of our lives for so long, but a little longer would have been welcomed.
Yes, they are never with us long enough, but what an impact they have in their short time. π
Maybe that’s why their age is calculated differently to ours.
Darling photo and the frame is just right! The bears hold vigil. I’m glad your hubby is improving, even through the trial of idiotic ‘know it alls’ who still have to learn the value of LISTENING. My sympathies are with you, as you know. Take care of each other!
Thanks Melanie.

Aw, that picture of the babies made me tear up even more than thinking about poor Maggie (and you). Hugs, Di,
Thank you. We had another card and some flowers today. Both of us have had to check ourselves as we almost called her for cheese and titbits. We are keeping to her routine and walking at times when she’d want to go out. It’s a comfort of sorts.
Awe Di! My heart goes out to you every time I think of sweet maggie. I am glad the vet was kind and sent you a card. My vet did that too when I put my last dog to sleep. Its a nice personal touch. Hope hubby feels better soon!
Thanks Carol Anne. It feels very strange here
