The Friday Four: 20th November

The Friday Four
Once A Fortnight Question Game set by Rory aka A Guy Called Bloke

Today some more brain tickling thought provokers …

Are you a perfectionist or can you take a step back and accept less than perfect?

Maybe I tried, but it was half hearted as I was realistic about my abilities.
My card making skills are limited, but acceptable I think, and any imperfections are part of their charm, The only time I tried for perfection was in my music, but even if I got that ‘right’, it was never an exact replica of the original. This was because it was probably in the wrong key and the bass would have been of my making, not the composer as I rely on my ear, not reading music.

How often do you save online articles to your favourites list for reading ‘later’ and more importantly when do you then read them – as in when is your ‘later?’?

This would depend on what it was, or what I’d been looking for, but generally extremely rarely, and only for a short period.

When was the last time that you actively involved yourself in doing absolutely nothing for an hour and what did you do in that hour of nothing?

Quite often this week, just reminiscing about our Maggie.

When was the last time that you were engaged in a difficult conversation and if you can ‘what was it and how did you do?’

Depends what you classify as difficult. I can get tearful talking about Maggie but not all the time.  I avoid the usual politics and religion as a rule, dislike confrontation of any description, but can hold my own on budgets or money matters.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

You’re so right, the little imperfections are the charm of a handmade card.

  2. I love handmade cards. I don’t make them often anymore. My skills are far from perfect.

Emotional difficulty from our lost loves takes a long time to lesson. Hugs for your pain.

  3. Lovely answers all round I think! Your cards are beautiful (IMO), and perfection is over-rated. Although I will say I’ve never noted any imperfections in the cards you’ve shown your readers… I’m glad you have this time to remember your girl and the good times. That’s healing ‘work’. Blessings!
