It’s Friday……….. and Friday the 13th to boot.
Welcome to my Take Seven compilation which incorporates all 21 words (or derivatives) from the Three Things Challenge for the past week.
You are most welcome to join in using as many or all of the words too. Just pingback to this post and then leave a link to your post in the comments so that I can see it and respond directly.
As always, have fun, and I hope you enjoy this week’s effort.
Our words were:
after, day, dream, ear, envy, error, fallen, familiar, flash, fragrant, hero, limp, pleasure, remember, scarred, smoke, spirit, superstition, tow, unlucky, vane.
He was no dreamboat, mentally scarred and walked with a limp, but she saw beyond that, saw the spirit of the hero he once was and in a flash, had fallen for him hook, line and sinker.
Some had said it was an error of judgement to take on such a traumatic history and didn’t envy the difficulties she might encounter, but she didn’t listen and never went anywhere without him in tow. They were inseparable now and trusted each other implicitly. She’d had a weather vane designed in his likeness which was very popular and a good money earner.
As she stroked him lovingly behind the ears, he rumbled with pleasure, the fragrant smoke of jasmine drifting across the room, relaxing and calming after a long day. She had no qualms about the old superstition that black cats were unlucky.
Remember, witches often had them as their familiars.

Love this, Di!
Thanks Chris. How are you doing?
Very nice! If black cats are unlucky, I’m sunk, I have three! No, I am not a “cat person,” two just moved in on their own accord.
Thanks Lisa. I don’t think black cats are unlucky, especially as in days gone by it was a ‘token’ novelty given to the bride on her wedding day
