The Questions

Part of the reason today’s questions are later than usual is that I was having difficulty deciding exactly how I wanted to pose today’s questions. I’m not one to normally discuss politics, and while the general idea of this isn’t really about politics, it is heavily related, and is spawned by a conversation that I had with my sister, and a few others who hold frequently opposing viewpoints to my own. Again, this is intended to be less about the actual politics of the situation, and more about your own feelings and perceptions of how others are feeling, but please, answer the question as you best see fit, even if it is more political than I had in mind.

  • Have the results of the US Presidential election left you feeling relieved, apprehensive, hopeful, or some other emotion?
  • Have you been surprised at all by the emotions and reactions of others regarding the results?

I’m in the UK and don’t usually discuss politics in my blog either, but the US elections have been in everyone’s face.

Personally I am relieved that Trump wasn’t voted in again, but apprehensive about him actually leaving the White House! IMO he has not been very presidential in his behaviour and if someone had thought to confiscate his phone so that he couldn’t tweet, it might not have been a bad idea.

It has been an emotional time, with or without Covid-19, and IMO the country is divided no matter who won. Time will tell and I hope things improve for my friends across the Pond.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

I think they’d be better off with a Queen like ours. 😁

(I’m not a monarchist but looking abroad, it often seems the lesser of two evils)

Yes! Time will tell! But OMG! Trump tweets far too much!
