Truthful Tuesday 3rd November

Today is Tuesday and time for PCGuyIV’s weekly question.

The Question

First of all, thanks to Melanie for the inspiration for today’s question. It’s not exactly what she suggested at the end of her post, but it was definitely the jumping off point.

Aside from getting rid of the Gutenberg Block Editor, since it’s fairly clear that it isn’t going anywhere, what three changes would you like to see WordPress.com make? Please explain.

I have to be honest, I am still able to use a classic block editor thanks to a tip from Pam at Butterfly Sands.

If you save your work as a draft though and return to it, it doesn’t always come back in this format, and I don’t know if it works on ipads or smartphones.

Look familiar? This is what I was used to and able to continue with now.

From when I had to use the block editor though it was confusing and seemed to favour businesses and professionals.
So, if they were to think about something other than making money, maybe they could
have an option for the Fun Blogger or novices which is straightforward to use.

Also with so many problems that are coming to light, a link to the Happiness Engineers should be an option in the icon list to save you faffing about trying to find a contact address.

It wouldn’t be a bad idea either if someone realised that not everybody has umpteen apps they want to link in one place!!!

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Admittedly, I had multiple problems with permissions, ability to comment, etc. I’m with you that they could’ve chosen a more user-friendly model to make the platforms get along.

  2. I like that tip and I will try it today.

  3. Great suggestions Di! I’m eager to try out the Pam suggestion you offered, although I’m fairly comfortable now with how to work ‘around’ with the blocks. Clever girls you two!
