Ominous

Such is Fandango’s choice of word for his challenge today.
Hubby has just gone flying off to a garage having discovered a nail in one of the rear tyres.
We have a long trip tomorrow, and our car does not carry a spare, just one of those emergency inflation kits. We belong to a motoring emergency service, but if they cannot fix us on the roadside, they will take us to just one place of our choice, so worst case scenario would be back home and miss my appointment.

I rang ahead to check the garage was open today (YES!!!) and told them Hubby was on his way. The guy I spoke to actually lives in our town so had a rough idea of when to expect him. He said he would fit him in, even if Hubby had to wait as they have a full schedule today.
We replaced all four tyres last year and have done less than 4000 on them, so hopefully they will be able to repair it as they did before for £25.

This is a bit of an ominous start to our preparations for tomorrow.

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

A sigh of relief that everything is a go for tomorrow and that the car is ready.
