A good day

Today has been one of the better days we’ve had for a considerable while, and I’ve come to bed feeling more relaxed than in recent weeks.

The dog has been good for us, weeing or pooing on all of our walks, as if she has suddenly remembered what is expected of her. We’ve had a few instances of restlessness, but they didn’t last and for once she settled down in the evening without us getting cross with her.

The five drawer chest is terrific, so tomorrow we are off to get another one for the main bedroom, then I shall have a thorough sort out and dispose of ALL items tatty, faded or no longer elasticated. We have a lot of stuff in plastic crates under the bed and I can utilize those for bulky items like blankets that are currently on top of one of the larder tallboys and looking untidy. Both of us have grown fed up with going without, so we are spending a little bit of money ‘on us’ and the home.

Dinner today was a success as Hubby took things slowly, managing to eat his entire portion of curry and rice, plus the added bonus of a popadom! Tomorrow I shall be making a cottage pie and doing extra veggies for me.

Just going to set my 3 TC for tomorrow, then lights out!
Let’s hope we have some more good days like this.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Wonderful! I was eyeing a cedar chest that was at the thrift store but upon opening it I decided a quick NO. It smelled, um, skunky is the best description. I need to find storage for some blankets. But it isn’t pressing as we’ll have them on the beds soon. So nice when the stars align and all is right in our little spheres.

  2. So pleased. We need those days .

That’s great! Splurging on oneself is okay if done wisely.

Brilliant that things are going well. May they continue. There’s nothing like relaxing days.

    • Sadly we don’t seem to get many. Hope you’re OK Liz.

I’m ok as can be, thanks.
Today felt more official in regards to Court of Protection. I had to pass some papers over to mum, while explaining about it all again and then making sure she knows she can seek advice.
As much as I have chatted to mum a majority about this before, it just seamt more difficult doing it this time, while holding official papers.
