Today is Monday 19th October

Or what’s left of it! It’s 5.30pm and I’ve only just started to look into my blog.

What a morning! We’ve had to have a field trip to the Bank because they’ve changed the telephone banking system and not only will it cost us more money on our phone bill but it is bloody useless to us! Monday Peeve will follow!!

Great news is that I have had a phone call and my mammogram is scheduled for Monday 2nd November and their last appointment of the day, so we will have plenty of time to get there. I have also had a call regarding the sign off of my treatment, which I wasn’t expecting. I had believed it would be extended by 5 years after Dick’s demise, but apparently the cover expires in October 2021, five years after Humphrey. Also, there is confusion over how long I should be taking my meds and that should also terminate next year, but I was told I would be on the alternatives for 5 years. By all accounts I have to go through my GP, who in turn has to run it past my consultant. Not looking forward to instigating that in the near future the way things currently are with our surgery.

Other than that, not much to report. Hubby has eaten very well today, including what was left of the apple pies. Tomorrow I’m doing stew so that will get some veggies into him.
Hope you’ve all had a good start to the week.
Take care and keep safe.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Great news and mammogram in the same sentence is always positive. Of all the tests I have, I loath the squishogram the most, even more than the porthole peep.

    • Luckily the porthole peep (love your terminology) is a thing of the past for me now that I’ve reached my 65th year.
Mammograms though are a must for the next few years as they reset the clock after my surgery last year. I should be
done in half the time as they only have the one side to do now. Although they told me there was nothing in the left breast last year, after what happened with the second strike, I am even more anxious than normal.
