Today is Thursday 15th October

Good morning!

It’s a beautiful day here on the East coast, a bit blowy, but sunny and dry, so the washing is out.
I woke up at 6.30, let the dog out but she wasn’t interested so we went back to bed for an hour. I had a fabulous shower and washed my hair when I got up, pure bliss standing under the cascading hot water.

Breakfast today was branflakes, a banana, apricots and raspberries topped with yogurt and washed down with a cup of tea. There is just something wonderful about that very first sip of that first cuppa. I know a lot of people feel that way about coffee.

Hubby had his blood test today and at 2.5 has dropped out of range. He’s also lost all the weight he’d gained, so we are back where we started. I have made sure there are plenty of shortbread biscuits and cookies in the cupboard, a new tub of ice cream in the freezer, and yogurt in the fridge. The New Improved Recipe blueberry muffins are off the menu as they gave him terrible indigestion and hiccoughs, but these were from a different supermarket so there is hope. I had one yesterday and they smell very strongly of the fruit, but the little chips in the mix? More essence of blueberry or only one blueberry per muffin.
I’ve walked the dog where she performed two poos and is asleep on her cushion at the moment. I’m going to get the kit out and make some more cards using the trimmings I bought the other day. I’ve got a few ideas going through my head so it will be fun to see if they work out. Hubby is over the road helping a friend install a new printer and sorting out a computer problem.

Other than that, no plans today, so we can plod. I like ploddy days.
Keep safe everyone

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

    Have a good day Di

  2. Is hubby still drinking the Ensure and the other health drink to get calories? With his diabetes, can he eat the sweets so much? Your numbers are different from what I’m used to so I can’t tell. He certainly keeps you on your toes! And yes, there is nothing like that first sip of coffee first thing in the morning. None of the rest you drink taste the same! Have a great day or what’s left of it.

    • Hubby still has his complan and we had the last of the soup today. He’s not diabetic though, that’s me, so the sweet stuff is OK for him in moderation. He’s doing well today though and has had a full tin of rice pudding and a scrambled egg too!

      • Ok, I just got confused. I the the nurse was testing blood glucose but it was something else. Onto the ice cream then! Woohoo!

      • Ice cream is definitely a big hit as it soothes his throat too. His blood is tested for clotting ability because he’s on blood thinners (warfarin) for life. They tried him on an alternative but it made him ill so he has to stick with it. The nurse is really good though and he has another test next week, so she’s keeping good watch.
