Take Seven of a different kind

I made seven cards today, and would describe it as my Purple Period.
I had three ‘gate cards’, ie, those that fold to the centre, and to be honest, I have never really been happy with them. The original trimmings I thought would be suitable were actually too wide so it has been a case of trial and error when I’ve felt in the mood, but they seemed to work today.
As you can see, butterflies have crept in to my design!

I also experimented with some left over coloured card and a topper, adding my own gold butterfly to compliment the one alongside the bird.
The card on the left has butterflies cut out along the edge, but there were only four in the pack and this is the only one I’ve used so far. This is a cropped shot of it and I think it’s quite pretty. The other two I made were for Christmas and the Santa has some of the new trimmings I bought the other day on it.

Not a bad morning’s work.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  4. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL designs!! I love the lacy feel of the one you did the closeup on, and that butterfly adds a bright spot of color to it that really brings it alive. Such talent! You should be proud! ☺

These cards are gorgeous! How long did it take you to finish the card with the beautiful butterflies cut outs?

    • Thank you, but it wasn’t my doing as the card was already desigined like that and I just had to add my trimmings. I did have a template for cutting out a lattice though. It was quite effective so I shall try and make up another one.

  10. Those are all really beautiful. I just saw a volunteer “job” on the internet that is writing letters to seniors. Maybe I should try to make something like that. I don’t know if I have the patience though. Do you have one of those machines to cut everything?

The first 3 look so dainty and pretty – but I’m biased toward lavender!
