Today is Monday 12th October

It’s raining at the moment, and has been off and on all day.
I went up to the Post Office first thing, well, sort of, being the first thing I did after a late breakfast, and got my packet in the post to NZ. Seems Air Mail is still operational from the UK there, though our neighbour posted something to her son and the family in Australia and no air mail was being accepted. As there was no warning or notice about it, it is unlikely her parcel will arrive this side of 2021.

Lunch has been had and Hubby had the second half of his pasty with a fried egg. Something gave him hiccoughs which were painful, so he has been taking things slowly since, but the ice cream went down very well and soothed his throat. I had my tomato pasta with mushrooms.

We had another funeral in the road today. I didn’t know this lady, only ‘of her’, but it’s possible everyone met up at the Crematorium because we’ve actually seen nothing go past our window unless it was first thing this morning.
We saw a friend being taken off in an ambulance last week but I haven’t seen anyone of the family to ask after him. His dog was the other ‘Smiler’ I got to know when we first came here, and by all accounts she didn’t go to people, yet came to me from day one. I am convinced I was a dog in a former life.

I had a funny turn in the shop today and had to support myself against a shelf. I took another couple of steps and had to do the same, so stood still to let things settle down and stop swimming. One of the floor staff came over to ask if I was OK and I said not really. She told me to stay put while she went to get me a chair, then assisted me to one of the closed checkouts so that she could keep an eye on me in case I needed further help. I felt so silly and embarrassed as I sat there with my baguette, mushrooms and grapes, but I felt better after ten minutes or so, paid for my goods, and returned to the car. I told Hubby, so we came straight home, and I went for a lie down. My BP was good, 138 over 77 with a pulse of 57, my temperature 36º and pulsox 96%.  I think it was a combination of wearing a mask in a warm place and getting a wee bit hot and bothered. I’ve had a catnap as well as lunch since and walked the dog twice so think it was just one of those things.

Late accessing my blog again today as it’s nearly 4pm, so my apologies in respect of pingbacks for the 3TC challenge today. I’ll get on that now.

Take care everyone and keep safe.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

I hope you’re feeling better now Di. Yes heat and exertion can bring on a dizzy spell. I’ve had them a few times too. It could also be hypoglycemia. Get your blood sugar checked

  4. My mother has been suffering from vertigo, Di. It started with low blood pressure which was caused by a mild bladder infection so we treated that and the dizziness increased so I took her back to the doctor and we established it is vertigo caused by a virus in her ear. So frightening to go faint and there’s the risk of falling and doing damage to yourself.

Sorry to hear you had a turn – it’s scary when that happens. (I’ve had a few)
You have most things under control and are very sensible so I’m hoping it was just the heat and the mask. Take it easy.

So scary to feel faint when in public! The clerk is a real gem to have given you such good treatment. I know around here it is more likely to get assistance from a fellow shopper than from store personnel! Glad you are feeling better…

I hate it when I get a turn. I am glad you were ok, and the lady in the shop assisted you. Naps are awesome! I am trying not to nap during the day now, as it messes with my sleep at night. Sending a good morning hug! ❤
