Today is Saturday 10th October

Another late start to the blogging day, and our internet being soggy does not help. Hubby and I have both been having problems as it seems to be on a velcro connection. This is not unusual when it rains, and we have certainly been on the receiving end over the past few hours.

We had a short shopping trip and came up lacking on calendars! Seems diaries are the in thing and calendars won’t be in the shops until the end of the month. That does not help me sending one to Bro in NZ! Time for a Plan B.
I walked the dog back from the clubhouse again, and a couple were training their new dog. Apparently it’s four years old and they’ve had it about two weeks. I remember a long length of rope with one of us at each end and Barney on a lead running between us as we were teaching, or trying to, recall. We never actually mastered it with him as he was always interested in something else.
Loads of treats were forthcoming, and this little chap was doing very well.

Lunch today was my ginger and pineapple chicken, Hubby having a baked potato with his and I had rice. He managed pretty well, but too much citrus, so had to have some custard to neutralise it. His diet is very much a case of trial and error, but at the end of the day he is eating some solid food, and that has to be a plus.

While we were out, I had a call from my niece. This one is the nicer of my sister’s two daughters, and we were chatting for about half an hour. The first thing I thought was that someone had died as that’s the only time I hear from Down South, but all is well, the kids are back at school, their health service sucks likes ours and they’re waiting for some of the restrictions to be brought back into place. Sis has a new dog (she was getting one when I had a text for my birthday in May), niece had no idea if the birthday card I sent her had arrived and I got the impression that everyone there is relying on Face Chat rather than seeing each other. OK I suppose in today’s circumstances, but I won’t be joining in. As I explained to her, I’ve just got used to sending text messages and emails.

The sun’s come out now, so hopefully we can get on with our computer interests.
As always, take care and keep safe.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  1. Yes I was thinking the same. Usually send diaries but this year it’s not going to happen.
