Take Seven 9th October

It’s Friday!

Welcome to my Take Seven compilation which incorporates all 21 words (or derivatives) from the Three Things Challenge for the past week.
You are most welcome to join in using as many or all of the words too. Just pingback to this post and then leave a link to your post in the comments so that I can see it and respond directly.
As always, have fun, and I hope you enjoy this week’s effort.

Our words were:
back, blood, cheeky, clever, flower, food, fright, gain, high, joy, old, once, pain, persevere, rivalry, start, style, success, telepathic, unhappy, wish

The rivalry between the two of them was old news, but the pain was forever present and she wished things were different.
They say blood is thicker than water, and she had tried to persevere in settling whatever had set her sibling against her, but after forty years, had not met with much success.
She thought it high time for change, so at the start of the new year, adopted a different style of attitude which might have been seen as clever, even cheeky at the time, but in truth there was nothing to gain except sorrow.
Once, the joy of giving flowers would have been an adequate peace offering, but you didn’t need to be telepathic to know she was unhappy. She took comfort in food as she always did when she felt like this, knowing she looked a fright having gained some twenty pounds. It was a vicious circle but she would be damned if she’d back down this time.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  3. Well-done, Di!
I sent you mine via pingback and after reading yours discovered I had eliminated ‘three’ words quite by accident (wrote another notation over them).
Taking the ‘smell the roses’ path and leaving well enough alone.

  5. Here’s mine! I happened to use the words in order because it was easiest to keep track of them:
