Take Seven 2nd October

I didn’t think I’d be doing one of these this week, but here we are!

Welcome to my Take Seven compilation which incorporates all 21 words (or derivatives) from the Three Things Challenge for the past week.
You are most welcome to join in using as many or all of the words too. Just pingback to this post and then leave a link to your post in the comments so that I can see it and respond directly.
As always, have fun, and I hope you enjoy this week’s effort.

Our words were:
bet, boyfriend, cheese, drip, fare, fear, flack, fun, hang, negligent, new, puddle, rain, record, rhubarb, skim, subtle, thread, toffee, worm, worth

The bet had started out as a bit of fun to worm her way into the heart of the new boyfriend. She used to hang on to his every word, but one rainy afternoon there was a subtle change in her approach when a small drip of an idea soon developed into a huge puddle of originality.
She had always taken flack from teachers never likely to skim over her failings at school and thus began to fear her capabilities. However, they had all been negligent in their teachings for not realising her potential as not once had her flair for cuisine been mentioned on her record.
The cheese dip and raspberries was a success, but it was the toffee and rhubarb dessert that really blew his socks off. He had never tasted food fare like it, and thought she was worth her weight in gold in the kitchen. The thread of an idea for a restaurant chain developed in his mind and he couldn’t wait to discuss it with her.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  5. I do love the Take Seven. For whatever reason I always find it easiest to use the words in the order you give them. Who knows with my mind anyhow??? https://christinebialczak.com/2020/10/02/take-seven-2nd-october/
