I’m orlwhite

Tummy rumbles,
What’s for dinner?
Something liquid,
No wonder he’s thinner.
Up the ante,
Fish is a winner!
Took off the breadcrumbs,
Put flesh on the plate,
White on white background,
He couldn’t wait,
Mash taters were crispy,
To test his pal-ate (sorry)
He wanted some colour,
Brown sauce would do,
Add that to his dish
A savoury hue,
Wetting his lips
So much better than goo….
The fish was too much,
But the tater was fine,
He polished that off
In record time:
Now we both know
Where to draw the line.

A little bit of silliness for Hubby’s first ‘meal’.
All did not go according to plan so the dog did very well, but we have tried and set a target for the next 1-2 weeks as per the diet sheet and begun to introduce soft solids.
In the meantime, this is what I’ve been having:
Top left: cheese, crackers, cherry toms and grapes.
Top right: baked potato with cheese on carrots, green beans and onion in a garlic stock
Bottom: tri-colour pasta tomato bake with mushrooms and green beans

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

    Yum! Great news about hubby.

  2. 1/2 lb burger with mushrooms and cheese, side order of crisp french fries. Week 12. (drool).

  3. Your diet plan sounds delicious (and looks the same). I bet your hubby was glad to get some ‘solid’ food, wasn’t he? If his stomach disagreed, well it’s got to get used to real food once again. I think a liquid diet would drive most of us around the bend after a small while. I do know a blogger whose diet is solely Ensure. I don’t know how she does it. I need something to CHEW now and then.. O_o

    • It was worth a try Melanie as this is day 10 and we can slowly begin to introduce ‘real food’. I’m doing stew tomorrow and will whiz his portion (minus carrots). We tried a poached egg the other day but it was too early. If he can get one solid thing down every day (not always biscuits!!) it will help with other things.
      How are you today?

  4. All of your meals look delish. Grapes…I could go for some nice sweet grapes. Mind if I stop over for a few?

And I hope Hubby can gradually introduce more variety and solidity to his meals. πŸ˜€
I remember my Dad having a reflux problem in his later years – sad as he Loved his food! πŸ˜€
