Sunday Writing Prompt – Creating a Context – 27th September

Michael’s challenge today:

It came as no surprise to anyone when he/she entered the arena/shop/church and found it inhabited by snakes/fluffy cuddly creatures/winged predators.

Choose one word from each highlighted set and compose your story/poem.
It came as no surprise to anyone when he entered the church and found it inhabited by winged predators.
For years rumours had abounded about vampires and werewolves taking up residence in the old ruins. Movies and legend had it that they were arch enemies, not co-inhabitants, so naively armed with stakes, garlic and silver ammunition, he decided to find out.
He came unstuck though as the occupants were neither.
The mutant bats had wolverine features and were watching with avid interest as he approached.
The leader who spoke was well mannered and articulate in his attire, suggesting their ‘Visitor’ remove himself from their presence before the youngsters got carried away at the prospect of new flesh to practice their techniques on.  The brilliant gleam of incisors emphasised their eagerness to try.
He was also reminded that any photographs taken would not show any imagery and heinous laughter followed him as his exit was much faster than his entrance.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
