Today is Saturday 26th September

Stop the world, I want to get off!!
The day has started cold, windy and damp, and I am seriously thinking of writing a booklet on how to do admin.
Incompetence in our medical care is running rife, the latest being our flu jabs!
The surgery was unable to oblige last year as they kept running out of vaccine, so we went to the local chemist and had no problems at all.
Naturally when you get good service, you go back. Pfft.

I made an appointment as soon as we knew they were available for Sept 21st but had to cancel them because of Hubby’s op. They couldn’t find us in the system at all to cancel those, so I made alternatives for the 26th October.
Imagine my surprised annoyance to receive text messages reminding us of our appointments on Monday 28th at the times given for the non existent 21st.
Let us now contain my rising anger at the chemist not being open on Saturdays to find out WTH is going on, and trying to access the website as stated on the text messages for reschedule stated we had to open individual accounts before we could register!
Hubby has an INR appointment on Monday, after which we shall go to the chemist to either be jabbed or reschedule. I am NOT impressed.
Maggie got me up at 3.30 having been ‘fragrant’ in her sleep so nuking me awake anyway. She did the business and we went back to bed. Luckily at that time it had stopped raining.
She’s had another motion this morning, all good, but after eating grass has brought up bile, so we are back to chicken and rice for her dinner. It never seems to end.
I managed to get an early walk in before anyone else was likely to be about and before the latest rain cloud burst over my head.
Hubby is better today after a little tilt last night, but is feeling cold so we have the heating on and have turned it up. I’m making sure he has plenty to drink, and he’s going to have some strained vegetable soup today for his lunch. I’m going for a final bacon and mushroom bap, then tomorrow will have to find something else for my dinner!
True to form, it is tipping it down with rain again today. Luckily we managed to get the undies dry yesterday on the radiators and all being well it should be blowy and dry tomorrow so I can catch up on the big stuff.

Onward with the day then, and I will now don my chef’s cap and get lunch for us all.

Have a good day everyone. Keep safe.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

I’m not sure that “liking” this post was what I really wanted to do… Sounds awful. We are trying to schedule our flu shots too. The option of going to our doctor’s office may not be doable and Sparky is not inclined to go to a pharmacy where the shot is administered by a clerk without any formal training. So we are attempting to figure it all out… Hope Maggie turns around and is feeling better soon, hope your husband has a good day and heals quickly, and mostly I hope your weekend is stress free!

    • Like away Val. It’s not a bad day actually compared to yesterday. Bacon is a good comfort!
Hubby has done me a new SWMBO which will be revealed later today. That has made me laugh. πŸ™‚

Lazy weekend for me. Only going out today, when I pick up my new specs. As opticians is inside a store, I will get a few groceries while there after. Then I shall watch a dvd when home.

  3. Sending you hugs. Bacon works to lift the spirits when it’s not incinerated. Hope today is much better. x

  4. Good morning, wishing for a storm to move smoke away, send some of the rain over here. Many of the trees have had criminal damage from the smoke. We are being pushed to have flu shots. Sorry Maggie is not well. Education is a must in the current environment. Relax for stress free day.

    • Thanks Bettylouise. It’s wet and windy here today, but I’ve managed to get Maggie out for three walks without getting wet! Flu shot saga will continue on Monday for us. Have a good weekend.

We had drive through flu shots here. It was a novel experience, wind down window, stick out your arm and get needle then drive off. πŸ€ͺ

    • Sounds good! We have a 15 minute slot but can’t go in together as they have to sanitise the room after every appointment. As we’re husband and wife they might make an exception though (gives them some breathing space)

  6. Yes my friend, there’s so much incompetency in this now chaotic world. Companies hired replacements with little knowledge (SAD) thus a slew of mix-ups in transmission of important information. Glad to read your hubbie is feeling a bit better (day-by-day improvement) and you were able to enjoy your bacon special. I hope the weather changes for the better to sunny and warm. πŸ™‚

    • Thanks June. The wind is bitter, and we have that horrible drizzle. Hopefully tomorrow it will be blowy but dry and I can catch up on the washing!
It’s been a pretty good day today.
